Originally a stable, this drab, Victorian mews house was covered in pebbledash and dark and pokey inside with little natural light and no architectural details to redeem it.
We were commissioned to refurbish the property and design an interior that would feel at once warm, welcoming and elegant and which would work just as well for informal entertaining as for his family.
The house was completely gutted and new full length windows and roof lights installed allowing light to flood in to both the living space and bedrooms. Home and Found envisioned a layout which, whilst retaining a sense of space gave an essentially open plan ground floor three defined areas with a unique use and purpose – kitchen – dining – sitting. We designed bespoke paneling, and hand made and hand painted cupboards and wardrobes throughout to maximize space and minimise clutter.
